Generation Palestine UK Book Tour

Generation Palestine Book Tour

Rich Wiles, editor of Generation Palestine: Voices from the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement (Pluto, 2013) is currently touring the UK in order to engage as many people as possible with the message of his most recent book.

The tour began in Hull on 19th June, and has passed through a further five cities, including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Falkirk and Dundee. Tonight’s event, hosted by the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign, takes place in Inverness at the Spectrum Centre, 7.30pm. More details can be found on the event Facebook page, and full details of the Scottish leg of the tour can be found at the Scottish PSC website, here.

The tour due to run until mid-July, details of the events can be found at the end of this post.

Sons of Lifta

Rich’s most recent documentary film, Sons of Lifta is also embedded below. The Palestinian refugee rights organisation BADIL describes it as:

[following] refugees from the village as they return to Lifta on Land Day 2013, more than 65 years after their original forced displacement. Through the eyes and actions of Lifta’s new generations, following in the footsteps of their ancestors, it becomes clear that the Zionist belief that ‘the old will die out and the young will forget’ never accounted for the strength of Palestinian sumoud (steadfastness) or the deep-rooted connection to home.
