We’re delighted to announce the forthcoming launch event of Nick Robins’ book, The Corporation that Changed the World (second edition) at the Rebecca Hossack Gallery in London on Wednesday 12th December.
About the Book
Its tempestuous rise and fall brought a lifestyle revolution to Britain through the import of Asian textiles and tea, and involved stock market bubbles, government bail-outs, board room battles, rebellions and, ultimately, nationalisation. But it also conquered huge parts of India with its private army, manipulated markets with its monopoly power and drove the opium trade with China.
The Company’s legacy has much to teach us about enduring relations between Europe and Asia – and its story provides powerful lessons on how to govern corporations so that they can serve the public good.
The launch is kindly hosted by the Rebecca Hossack Gallery (2a Conway Street, Fitzroy Square, London W1T 6BA). The event will take place between 6.30-8.30pm on Wednesday 12th December.
Space is going to be limited, so if you’re interested in coming along, do please RSVP by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org. For more details also contact this email address.
