Dark Matter: Art and Politics in the Age of Enterprise Culture -a Photoset

A few months ago an event was held at the Sheila C. Johnson Center for Design, at the Parsons New School for Design. The space combines learning and public program spaces with exhibition galleries to provide a dynamic presence for the university at the highly trafficked intersection of Fifth Avenue and 13th Street in Greenwich Village, New York. The theme of the event focused on Gregory Sholette’s Dark Matter (Pluto Press, 2010), a captivating book that shows how the elite of the art world are sustained by new forms and styles created by artists outside the mainstream.
